CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and is the term used to describe the learning activities professionals engage in to develop and enhance their abilities. It enables learning to become conscious and proactive, rather than passive and reactive.

CPD combines different methodologies to learning, such as training workshops, conferences and events, e-learning programs, best practice techniques and ideas sharing, all focused for an individual to improve and have effective professional development. There are over 1000 institutes & professional bodies across the UK, a number that is forecast to increase.

  • To increase knowledge of demolition, planning, legislation and resource efficiency.
  • To highlight the methods used and services associated with a competent demolition contractor.
  • To educate and inform persons involved in the appointment of demolition contractors.
  • This seminar is an overview to all aspects of demolition, including pre-start, notifications & legislation.

James Bibbey of Tower Demolition’s Resource and Efficiency lecturer

James is a widely respected demolition professional with over 18 years of commercial, project management, site supervision and operations experience in the UK construction industry. His knowledge and expertise embrace the full spectrum of demolition activities, including hard and soft interior stripping, asbestos and hazardous waste removal, ground works, concrete breaking and crushing, and site remediation.

His driving force is to challenge the way the demolition industry operates, seeking innovative ways to break traditional workplace boundaries. Using cutting-edge machinery and techniques, and focusing on CPD for the whole workforce, he ensures every project is cost-effective, safe and to schedule.

James’ high level of commitment to sustainable development processes has elevated Tower’s reputation as an industry-leader, with an unprecedented level of recycling and reclamation of waste building products at the end of life cycle.

With particular responsibility for Health & Safety, James takes care of the well-being of employees and members of the public who may be affected by Tower’s activities. To this end, he provides high quality training, integrates good H&S management with company policies and business decisions, and, with effective upward and downward communication, engages the workforce in the promotion and achievement of safe and healthy conditions for all.

During his career at Tower Demolition, James has worked on projects throughout the south, London and south east of England.
